Superman Set Photos Reveal the Construction of a Sleek Daily Planet Office

Film crews have begun descending on Cleveland for the latest portion of filming for James Gunn’s Superman, and IGN has obtained some exclusive images of one of its most iconic locations.

The photos, taken and provided to IGN by Emily Konik (@emmyak96 on X/Twitter), show Cleveland’s Leader Building being turned into the Daily Planet, the newspaper that employs Clark Kent and Lois Lane. It’s still under construction, but you can still get a good glimpse at a sleek Daily Planet globe, as well as a Daily Planet banner.

Cleveland is just one of the filming locations for Superman, as crews started turning Superior Avenue Downtown into Metropolis earlier this week, News 5 Cleveland reported. Filming on Superman began in March in Norway, where the film’s Fortress of Solitude scenes were shot, Gunn previously revealed.

News 5 Cleveland also posted a video of the Daily Planet globe, which you can see below.

Not only is The Daily Planet one of the most important locations in the history of Superman, but it’ll likely be an important one for this movie in particular. Previously, Gunn said the film “takes place during Clark’s earlier years at the Daily Planet.”

It’s the latest look we’ve gotten at Superman, previously titled Superman: Legacy, following the official first image of David Corenswet as the Man of Steel back in May. Gunn has also trickled out some images of the cast as well, including one showing off Nicholas Hoult’s shaved head as Lex Luthor.

In addition to Corenswet and Hoult, Superman will also star Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, Wendell Pierce as Daily Planet editor-in-chief Perry White, Skyler Gisondo, Edi Gathegi, Sara Sampaio, Anthony Carrigan, Terence Rosemore, Isabela Merced, María Gabriela de Faría, and Nathan Fillion. Most recently, it was revealed that Pruitt Taylor Vince and Neva Howell will play Jonathan and Martha Kent.

Superman, the first film of the DCU’s Chapter 1: Gods and Monsters, will hit theaters on July 11, 2025.
