Spider-Man: Brand New Day Is the Fastest Film to Reach $700 Million at Domestic Box Office

Spider-Man: Brand New Day is still on a tear at the box office, becoming the fastest movie to ever hit $700M domestically.

Spidey’s latest adventure on the big screen is proving to be a major hit among moviegoers. It’s already dethroned Avengers: Endgame to snag the biggest opening weekend in domestic box office history, and now, it’s broken yet another massive record.

As of August 13, 2026, Spider-Man: Brand New Day has officially become the fastest movie to surpass $700M at the domestic box office. As of Wednesday, August 12, it had raked in $704.5 million, just under two weeks after its opening weekend.

As per The Hollywood Reporter, Brand New Day currently sits at sixth place in the list of highest-grossing films within North America. In terms of the top grossing films of all time, however, it currently sits somewhere between 10th and 8th place, between Zootopia 2 and Inside Out 2.

At the global box office, Spider-Man is swinging close to the $2 billion mark, surpassing $1.8 billion as of August 13. Alongside Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey, both Tom Holland and Zendaya have had a massive run at the cinema this year — Zendaya especially, given her starring role alongside Robert Pattinson in The Drama in April and her upcoming appearance in Dune Part 3 (a film that also features Pattinson) in December.

Brand New Day’s success isn’t limited to the cinema; the film’s release also saw a huge surge in sales for Insomniac’s Spider-Man 2 game, with 316,000 copies getting sold as interest piqued among Marvel fans, translating to a jaw-dropping $11 million in sales across both PlayStation and Steam.

Critically, Brand New Day has been met with generally favorable reviews. IGN’s Tom Jorgensen scored the flick a 7 out of 10, remarking that it “effectively refocuses on the most reliable pillars of the webslinger: battling inner turmoil, swinging around NYC saving the day, and looking cool while doing so.”
