The Batman spin-off series The Penguin has not only received a new trailer at San Diego Comic-Con, but it also was given a September 19, 2024, Max premiere date.
The Penguin was the star of its own SDCC panel and the trailer dove deeper into the dangerous world of Gotham and the drug war that is tearing up its streets. We were also given our best look yet at Cristin Milioti's Sofia Falcone aka The Hangman.
Tear down the empire from the inside out.

Sofia is the daughter of crime lord Carmine Falcone and, if Gotham thinks they'll be able to move in on his territory now that he is dead, they are very wrong. Sofia was an inmate of Arkham and we see glimpses of how dangerous she can be.
Oz's mother also plays a big part of the trailer, which could lead to some of the emotional core of the series, as she says, "You promised me, Oswald. I deserve a better life." He then responds with, "I'm working on it."
Oz also looks to be mentoring Rhenzy Feliz' Victor Aguilar on his way to controlling as much of Gotham as he can.
The Penguin, which stars Colin Farrell as Oz Cobb himself, will have an eight-episode run and will air weekly at 6pm PT/9pm ET.
As for where this series sits in the world of DC, it is set one week after The Batman and will lead into the events of The Batman 2. It also live outside of the new DCU and exists in Matt Reeves' 'Batman Epic Crime Saga."
