The Conjuring 4, Billed as the Series’ ‘Finale,’ Will Debut in Fall 2025

The main Conjuring series is approaching its conclusion.

Warner Bros. revealed two release date announcements today, setting what it’s calling “The Untitled Conjuring Finale” for September 5, 2025 in IMAX. Previously, WB had only said an “untitled New Line horror event” would debut on that date.

There’s a couple of details of note in this announcement: for one, official confirmation that the fourth The Conjuring movie will be its last. This isn’t a huge surprise, though; previously, series creator James Wan teased that the team was “potentially wrapping up” the stories of Ed and Lorraine Warren in an interview with Collider. However, he kept it slightly coy at the time, saying, “you never know” when asked if The Conjuring 4 would be the final installment.

Warner Bros. also labeled it as “The Conjuring: Last Rites” at last year’s CinemaCon, although the studio didn’t commit to that name in today’s announcement. As for what else we know about the fourth Conjuring movie, THR reported in March that franchise veteran Michael Chaves, who directed 2021’s The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It and spinoff The Nun II, was in negotiations to take the helm.

It’s worth noting that, even though the next Conjuring movie will apparently be the last in the main series, the universe of the movies has expanded far beyond the Warrens, with film spinoffs for Annabelle and The Nun. A The Conjuring universe TV series, too, is also in the works for streaming service Max.

Elsewhere in WB’s release date announcement, The Bride!, Maggie Gyllenhaal’s Bride of Frankenstein movie starring Christian Bale, Jessie Buckley, Peter Sarsgaard, Annette Bening, and Penelope Cruz, has been moved up a week from October 3, 2025, to September 26, 2025.
