And now, there are multiple listings for the PS5 Pro Console – 30th Anniversary Limited Edition Bundle on eBay, where scalpers are asking for up to £10,000.
These scalpers do not have the PS5 Pro Console – 30th Anniversary Limited Edition Bundle in hand. Rather, they are selling their successful pre-orders. But already there are scores of listings for the bundle on eBay from scalpers hoping to profit from its limited availability. The situation is so bad that there are counter listings on eBay warning shoppers against buying a pre-order from the scalpers.
Even the PlayStation 5 Digital Edition – 30th Anniversary Limited Edition Bundle, which was not as restricted as the PS5 Pro version, is sold out, sparking scalping across the internet.
The situation rekindles memories of scalping four years ago when the PlayStation 5 went on sale, and Sony seemed as powerless then to prevent it as it does now. Of course, the PlayStation 30th Anniversary Collection isn’t released until November 21, so there’s time for Sony and auction sites like eBay to step in, but neither company has announced plans to do so.
