Marvel Announces Ryan Gosling Ghost Rider Movie | Comic Con 2026

Marvel has announced a Ghost Rider movie starring Ryan Gosling, directed by Deadpool & Wolverine’s Shawn Levy.

First details of the project were confirmed today at San Diego Comic Con during Marvel’s announcement panel in Hall H, where IGN was in attendance. While the film is still a little ways off — it will launch in 2028 — audiences were treated to Gosling and Levy appearing on-stage to discuss the film.

The pair previously worked together filming next year’s Star Wars: Starfighter. The fact that Disney is keen for them to re-team again so quickly is likely a promising sign for that film.

Back in March, Ryan Gosling confirmed he’d had discussions with Marvel to play the flame-headed hero Ghost Rider, though said at the time that it was “a complicated situation.”

Gosling first mentioned his desire to play Marvel’s demonic bike rider back in 2022, which Feige responded positively to at the time. “Hey man, if Ryan wants to be Ghost Rider… Gosling’s unbelievable,” the Marvel Studios president told MTV News. “Ryan is amazing… I’d love to find a place for him in the MCU.”
