It seems like discounts on handheld gaming PCs are few and far between these days. However, during Amazon’s Prime Day Sale, we’re starting to see some actual deals on top-notch handheld gaming PCs, including the Lenovo Legion Go S with the Ryzen Z2 Go processor. Costing just $549.99 right now, it’s down to its lowest price yet on Amazon. This roughly $150-off deal is exclusively for Prime members.

Save $180 on the Legion Go S (Ryzen Z2 Go, Windows)

This Windows handheld's Z2 Go chipset is essentially a Zen 3 processor with 4 cores and 8 threads, paired with an RDNA 2 GPU with 12 graphics cores. It's a perfectly capable handheld gaming device, rocking 16GB of RAM and 512GB of SSD storage. The 120Hz 8-inch 1200p IPS display reaches up to 500 nits of brightness, has 100% sRGB color coverage, and supports VRR. Its TrueStrike Controllers feature an anti-slip texture and easy-to-reach controls and buttons.

IGN PC components expert Jackie Thomas was a bit underwhelmed by its performance during testing. However, it keeps up with the original Legion Go and even outperforms the Steam Deck in many games. Jackie found it could play many AAA games with no problem at medium settings, and that it really shines brightest in less demanding games where the gorgeous display and high frame rates can be taken advantage of. The Legion Go S is a great alternative to the Steam Deck, after its recent price hike.
