New LEGO One Piece sets may be dropping this August, but if you're still hoping to grab some of last year's sets, you're going to want to journey over to Amazon. The retailer has slashed the price of the LEGO One Piece The Going Merry Pirate Ship down to $111.99, marking the lowest price we've seen so far for this build.
Normally this set is listed for $139.99, so you're saving $28 if you jump on this deal now. That's a pretty nice offer overall, and if you're a big One Piece fan, it's a set that certainly seems worth buying in general.
This 1,376-piece set – which is recommended for ages 10 and up – creates The Going Merry pirate ship that's filled with plenty of interior details like the crew's cabin, a kitchen, storage areas, Usopp's workshop, a ram figurehead, and more. It also comes with all five original crew members as minifigures: Monkey D. Luffy, Roronoa Zoro, Nami, Usopp, and Sanji.
We actually got our hands on this set back when it was originally released. If you're curious what we thought, IGN's We Build of The Going Merry from writer Kevin Wong called it "a simple, straightforward build, with a cartoonish look that makes it appear more plucky than imposing; it's befitting of the ragtag misfits that sail under its banner."
Wong also added that, "And assuming there will be future LEGO/Netflix One Piece sets (the original anime is in its 21st season and still going strong), this set – like the Season 1 that inspired it – makes a good first impression and promises great things to come." Check out a detailed breakdown of this build from the photos below.
This is an excellent offer to jump on if you've had your eyes on this set, so don't miss out on grabbing it while it's still at this new low price at Amazon. And if you're curious about the new sets releasing soon, have a look at our breakdown of all of the LEGO One Piece sets for season 2.
