LEGO Black Friday 2026 Sales: What to Expect

On nearly every IGN article about LEGO sets (and as the LEGO editor here at IGN, I post a lot of them), commenters complain that LEGO sets cost too much. That’s a fair criticism, especially because many of the most noteworthy LEGO sets are expensive.

Even the smaller sets cost more than you might expect if you don’t pay attention to the market. They’re comprised of many tiny interlocking pieces, after all. If you feel like you’re priced out of many LEGO sets you’d want to buy, Black Friday offers an excellent opportunity to buy them at some of the lowest prices of the year.

The question is, what kinds of discounts on LEGO can we expect to see this Black Friday? I’ve been covering LEGO deals for many years now, so here’s what I expect based on my experience.

LEGO Sets Up to 50% Off

Many times throughout the year, LEGO sets go on sale at various retailers. These run-of-the-mill sales generally offer discounts of 20% off. That’s the standard sale price at retailers like Amazon, Target, Best Buy, and the LEGO Store.

Therefore, a particularly good sale on LEGO sets is when you can find them for 30%, 40%, or even 50% off. These are the kinds of discounts I expect to see once the true Black Friday sales begin.

LEGO Store’s Black Friday Sale

Unlike many retailers, the official LEGO Store tends to have a pretty short-lived Black Friday sale. Last year’s sale started on Black Friday and ran for fours days – which means through that weekend and Cyber Monday. But the LEGO Store won’t be the only retailer dropping prices on LEGO sets, so keep an eye on the Black Friday sale schedule to see when retailers like Amazon and Walmart’s sales will go live.

Discounts on Retiring Sets

Which brings us to the question of which sets are most likely to be discounted? Answer: the sets that are retiring soon.

LEGO releases hundreds of new sets each year (here’s our running tally of the 2026 releases). To make room on retailer shelves for all those new boxes, LEGO has to retires older sets at roughly the same rate. Right now, LEGO’s “retiring soon” page has over 200 sets on it. You can bet many of these will go on sale during Black Friday as retailers try to offload inventory to make way for upcoming LEGO sets.

Black Friday LEGO Godzilla Set

Each year, LEGO releases a major new set on Black Friday. It’s always a statement piece, and it’s priced accordingly.

This year’s Black Friday set is LEGO Godzilla, a towering 5,363-piece set that stands over two feet tall. It features a striking gray-and-blue version of the city-wrecker that looks menacing and highly detailed. I love it. It will be available for $449.99, starting at 12:01 a.m. November 27.

If you buy it between November 27 – 30 while supplies last, you’ll also get an additional LEGO set as a free Gift With Purchase. It’s LEGO Godzilla Logo & Footprint, and it’s meant to be displayed next to the King of Monsters. It has matching colors and looks phenomenal.

LEGO Insiders Weekend 2026

Every year on the weekend before Black Friday, LEGO runs an “Insiders Weekend” promotion. This is a LEGO Store sale that’s exclusive to LEGO Insiders, a free membership that gets you access to events like this (you can sign up here). In addition to discounts on select sets, it also gets you things like bonus loyalty points on purchases, as well as exclusive Gifts with Purchase. You can check out last year’s promotions for an idea of what promotions we might expect to see in 2026.
