Jordan Peele has shared a date for his mysterious next film, setting a course to deliver the project on October 23, 2026.
The director posted the date with no additional context on X/Twitter. Although the post alone reveals little about what he plans to premiere in 2026, The Hollywood Reporter reports that Universal Pictures has marked the date on its calendar as the release date for Peele’s next movie. The October date is much later than expected, as the site also notes Peele had set a release date of December 25, 2024, before WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes resulted in a waterfall of delays last year.

The comedian-turned-horror-filmmaker made a name for himself in the thriller genre with Get Out in 2017. He then went on to direct and release Us in 2019 and Nope in 2022. Although Peele has kept himself busy with his producing banner, Monkeypaw Productions, in the years between, we’ve yet to hear about how he might continue his strong run as a director. So, while no details on the mysterious movie have been revealed, we can at hope that, judging by its October release date, it sticks with Peele’s love for horror.
Meanwhile, fans of the moviemaker’s work don’t have to wait more than two years to see something new. He’ll help release Him, starring Marlon Wayans, as a producer on September 19, 2025. Then, at an unspecified point in the future, audiences can expect to learn more about Peele’s collaboration with Hideo Kojima with their upcoming video game, OD.
We’ve enjoyed Peele’s work at IGN. We gave both Get Out and Us a 9/10 in their reviews. We enjoyed Nope equally as much. In our 9/10 review, we said, “Jordan Peele’s Nope is a bleak, hilarious sci-fi-horror romp, and one of the most entertaining summer movies in years.”
