Indy's Most Iconic Look Locked Behind Indiana Jones and the Great Circle Premium Edition at Launch

Indiana Jones' iconic outfit from Temple of Doom is locked behind the Indiana Jones and the Great Circle Premium Edition at launch.

The Digital Premium Edition of MachineGames' hotly anticipated adventure costs $99.99 instead of the Standard Edition's $69.99 and comes with the base game, story expansion The Order of Giants, a digital artbook, and the Temple of Doom Outfit, deemed by Microsoft itself "Indy's iconic look" on the Xbox Store page. This edition also arrives three days before the Standard Edition, meaning those only willing to pay $69.99 have to wait longer to play.

It's worth noting that Game Pass subscribers can upgrade to the Premium Edition for $35, which is a cheaper route to the Temple of Doom outfit in the short term.

The Temple of Doom outfit, alongside other pieces of downloadable content released for the single-player game, can be purchased separately "at a later date," though it's unclear when or for how much these will be released.

Editions like these are common in 2024, with other recent examples including Star Wars Outlaws and Assassin's Creed Shadows. Both games feature missions ready for launch but locked behind a Season Pass to the frustration of many players, not to mention the premium placed on earlier release dates.

The "three days of early access" are often wrought with issues too. Many Star Wars Outlaws players on PlayStation 5 had to restart their game after paying extra to play early, and were left with middling compensation from Ubisoft as an apology.

At Opening Night Live, Microsoft announced that Indiana Jones and the Great Circle is also coming to PS5, a few months after it launches on Xbox Series X and S and PC in December. Following up during a Microsoft gamescom 2024 livestream, Xbox chief Phil Spencer pointed to the apparently successful release of the four Xbox games on non-Xbox platforms and the boost they’ve enjoyed by going multi-platform.
