GTA 6 will launch on November 19, 2026, Take-Two has said, reaffirming the announced release date and putting to bed delay fears.
Speaking to IGN ahead of Take-Two’s fiscal year 2026 financial results, CEO Strauss Zelnick insisted GTA 6 was on-track. “I’ve been saying for some time that the release date is November 19,” he said. “We obviously reiterated that today, so we feel really good about it.”
Reporting its financial results for the 2026 fiscal year, Take-Two, which owns GTA 6 developer Rockstar Games, said it expects a “breakout year” for the company, led by “the most anticipated entertainment property of all time.” Take-Two confirmed Rockstar’s plan to kick off the GTA 6 marketing campaign this summer, with pre-orders expected to go live at the same time, as fans await the release of Trailer 3.
But can GTA 6 get away with not releasing a Trailer 3, or even showing off gameplay before launch? We asked Zelnick, and he had an interesting response.
Take-Two said it expects to record revenue of $8-8.2 billion during the 2027 fiscal year, what would amount to a 20% increase on the prior year, primarily due to the launch of GTA 6. Take-Two saw revenue of $6.72 billion during the 2026 financial year, so the GTA 6 effect could be up to $1.5 billion.
Earlier this month, Business Insider reported that Take-Two is estimated to have spent $1-1.5 billion so far on GTA 6. It is also expected to be the biggest entertainment launch of all time, breaking records for video game sales and revenue. Rockstar has yet to say how much GTA 6 will cost, with the industry waiting with bated breath to see if it goes higher than $70.
GTA 6 is set for launch on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X and S on November 19, 2026.
