Gruv, an official storefront owned and operated by Universal, just launched a massive sale on 4K movies in the lead-up to Father’s Day. The sale is relatively simple: Add three eligible movies to your cart and Gruv will automatically discount your total down to $33. The deal also stacks.
Now, what exactly does Gruv consider a ‘Father’s Day’ movie? This seems to be a pretty loose thematic connection, as the sale includes a seemingly random selection of over 180 movies. Well, maybe not too random – there's lot of action classics and superheroes. I’d recommend doing some scrolling through the full list to see if you can find anything from your (or your Dad’s) wishlist.
Gruv Launches '3 for $33' 4K Sale Ahead of Father's Day
The cheapest 4K I could find on the list was listed at $13.99, with the majority of eligible movies sitting between $14.99 and $20. No matter what, you’re basically getting a third movie for free. If you want to get some real bang for your buck, you can skim for more expensive movies like The 40-Year Old Virgin for $24.99 or, funnily enough, Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 for $27.95.
Otherwise, the sale is a mix of classics like Jaws and more recent releases like Dune. You’ll also find plenty of individual 4Ks from big franchises like Fast and Furious, Bourne, and several different iterations of Batman. Some personal standouts I’m quite sure my own dad would enjoy include Scott Pilgrim vs. The World, Inglourious Basterds, and The Northman.
I did get my Dad The Dark Knight trilogy in 4K for his birthday one year, and it is something he now proudly displays in his living room. All to say, this could be a pretty solid Father's Day gift idea, and I wouldn’t judge you for sneaking at least one of the three movies for yourself.
How Long Will the Sale Last?
Gruv doesn’t list an exact end date for the sale, though the main headline on the website highlights that Father’s Day is June 29. It’s possible the sale will run until that date, but if you want your picks delivered in time, I’d make a move sooner rather than later. Free standard shipping takes 3-10 business days, so if you are thinking about picking something up as a Father’s Day gift, it should arrive in time. Expedited and Next Day shipping costs an extra $5.99 or $14.99, respectively.
