Android phones are really popular, but one advantage that Apple products have is the synergy with programs and devices that you use every day. Because of this, when I switched to Android, I went with the Google Pixel. It’s less expensive than many others and it syncs beautifully with G-suite programs as well as Pixel Buds.
Google Pixel 7a 5G for $229
The 7a has a 6.1-inch OLED screen with a 90Hz refresh rate and 500 nits of brightness. It also sports a 64 megapixel camera, and 13 megapixel cameras for use on front-facing and ultrawide shots. Because it’s unlocked, you can also use it with any carrier you like, and it has 5G, a USB Type-C charging port, and a fingerprint reader.
Here’s a bit of what Mark Knapp said in his Pixel 7a review:
What We Said In Our Review:
“The Pixel 7a is a great mid-range phone. It’s got high-tier processing, especially for AI-enhanced features like voice dictation, and holds up in everyday use. Its cameras even keep up well with the standard Pixel 7. Its most notable downgrades are in the design, which has some cheaper materials. The only thing holding it back is that the almost entirely superior Pixel 7 regularly sees discounts down below the $500 MSRP of the Pixel 7a. So unless you can’t wait for a deal on the Pixel 7 or find the Pixel 7a with a big discount, there’s little reason to choose this model over its big (but not really bigger) sibling.”
If you want to go even harder in the paint for a better and newer phone, check out the deal for the Pixel 8, which is so good our Senior SEO Strategist just bought one.
Should You Wait for the Pixel 9 Instead?
One possible reason for such a deep discount is the upcoming Made By Google event on August 13, which is likely where the next generation of Pixel phones will first be revealed. They’ll certainly be upgraded versions of the 8, but whether that is worth the extra cash and wait is something only you can decide.
