gamescom 2024: How to Watch, Schedule, and What to Expect From the Event

gamescom 2024 is almost here, and IGN is the official media partner once again for gamescom studio in Germany. Fans can expect exclusive trailers, gaming reveals, deep dives with developers, interviews on IGN’s stage at the event, demos, cosplay, and much more. Along with that, viewers will see live coverage from the show floor at gamescom, including Xbox’s huge booth at the show.

This guide will provide everything you need to know to watch gamescom and IGN’s biggest livestreams, including when each event starts, a list of places you can stream them live with us, and what you can expect to see at gamescom 2024.

When Is gamescom 2024?

gamescom 2024 runs from August 20 through August 25 in Cologne, Germany.

What to Expect at gamescom 2024

IGN will livestream four days of coverage at gamescom 2024, including Opening Night Live, two gamescom studio days with exclusive interviews and demos, the gamescom Awards show, and multiple developer showcases such as Xbox, Bethesda, 2K, and more.

There will be something for everyone at gamescom, whether you are able to be at the event in person or relaxing at home and staying up-to-date with the latest reveals. For those attending in person, you can check out IGN’s live show, gamescom’s cosplay village with the coolest costumes, an esports area, a retro games area, and more.

Xbox announced three days of livestreams at gamescom earlier this month, and they will also have their “biggest booth yet” at the show this year. Xbox’s livestream will take place August 21 – 23 at 5am PDT 2pm CEST, and will start off with a dedicated Bethesda stream for the first hour each day. Microsoft said Xbox fans can expect games at the show including Diablo 4: Vessel of Hatred, Avowed, Diablo Immortal, The Elder Scrolls Online, WoW: The War Within, Fallout 76, Towerborne, Ara: History Untold, Age of Mythology: Retold, and more.

gamescom Schedule (So Far)

IGN kicks off its gamescom coverage with Opening Night Live on Tuesday, August 20, including an exclusive Post-Show analysis and reveals. See the below schedule for gamescom so far, including IGN’s live coverage throughout the event.

Tuesday, August 20

gamescom Studio Opening Night Live (with IGN Post-Show) – 11am PT / 2pm ET / 8pm CEST

Geoff Keighley will again host Opening Night Live to kick off gamescom 2024. The opening show will feature exciting announcements such as trailers and gameplay, along with world premieres.

2K Gameplay Showcase – 1:30pm PT / 4:30pm ET / 10:30pm CEST

Wednesday, August 21

IGN gamescom studio Day 1 – 6am PT / 9am ET / 3pm CEST

Day 1 of IGN’s live coverage will feature developer interviews with Diablo IV, Avowed, Monster Hunter Wilds, Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero, Marvel Rivals and more.

Bethesda livestream – 5am PDT / 8am EST / 1pm BST / 2pm CEST

Xbox Day 1 livestream – 6am PDT / 9am EDT / 2pm BST / 3pm CEST

Xbox’s first livestream day will feature S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl, Atomfall, Age of Mythology, and more.

Thursday, August 22

IGN gamescom studio Day 2 – 6am PT / 9am ET / 3pm CEST

Day 2 of IGN’s live coverage will feature developer interviews with Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, Star Wars Outlaws, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl, Sonic x Shadow Generations, AtomFall, and more.

Xbox Day 2 livestream – 6am PDT / 9am EDT / 2pm BST / 3pm CEST
