Fans Are More Convinced Than Ever That Robert Pattinson Is Starring in Hideo Kojima’s Physint Game

Hideo Kojima revealed the first poster for his next action-espionage game, Physint, almost a year ago, along with a handful of casting announcements that confirmed Charlee Fraser, Don Lee, and Minami Hamabe are set to star in the title.

Things have been relatively quiet since then; the most recent update for the game sprouted up in April 2026 in the form of a casting call, with Kojima Productions reportedly on the hunt for an actor to portray a villain with a “German accent.”

It’s been months since we’ve heard anything else, and fans are getting antsy… so antsy, in fact, that they’re bringing up an old theory now that a certain actor is making rounds in the limelight.

Ever since Physint’s first poster was revealed, fans have speculated that Robert Pattinson might be involved in the project, with many finding a resemblance between the actor and the shadowy character shown in the poster’s artwork. Those theories intensified after a photo of Pattinson and Kojima went viral shortly after Physint was first announced in 2024.

Now, fans are pointing back to an episode of Kojima’s KOJI10 podcast from 2025, in which the acclaimed game director mentioned that he’d met with Pattinson at an afterparty at the Cannes Film Festival.

“There is a movie called Die, My Love that Jennifer Lawrence is amazing in, and Robert Pattinson is also in the film,” he explained. “After the premiere of the movie [in Cannes], there is an after party. And this kind of event gathers a bunch of VIPS and celebrities there, so you absolutely have to have tickets to attend the after party, so I got a few from our agent. But we were short two tickets because there were four of us, and only two had tickets. I was wondering what to do, so I decided to send an email to Robert and he said, ‘How many tickets do you need?’ and sent the tickets right away.”

Kojima went on to describe Pattinson as a “nice guy” and confirmed that he’d spoken with him, though he couldn’t exactly divulge the topic of their conversation.

This podcast episode has picked up speed on social media following Pattinson’s slew of critically acclaimed performances this year; his portrayal of Chris Hansen in Primetime has specifically earned praise from moviegoers, not to mention his work in The Drama opposite Zendaya and Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey alongside Tom Holland and Anne Hathaway.

Commenters are fiending for a Kojima x Pattinson collaboration, with one writing on X/Twitter, “This would be a f**king GENERATIONAL pairing, I want this to be true so bad.”

“Pattinson in a Kojima game sounds too good to be true,” another said.

“If true, Sony has officially sold me a PlayStation 6, I can’t lie,” another joked.

We still likely have a long time to wait until we hear more news about this highly-anticipated title, but in the meantime, fans can check out the latest trailer for his upcoming horror game, OD, which promises to pick up where PT left off.
