Enter the spectral Green Knight, a mysterious half-giant who offers up a challenge that the HEADstrong Gawain is foolishly unable to resist.
Alicia Vikander, Joel Edgerton, Sarita Choudhury, Sean Harris, Ralph Ineson, Barry Keoghan, and Erin Kellyman also star in this “heart-rattling, loins-riling, and head-spinning trip that packs a profound punch.”

Highlight: Misery
In the late ’80s/early ’90s, there was a brief sea change in the land of horror, which had always been an ignored, demonized movie genre (especially following the early ’80s slasher boom). It was a time where we briefly got a window of A-list horror once director Rob Reiner cleaned up with Misery, scoring Kathy Bates an Oscar, and then The Silence of the Lambs swept major categories at the Academy Awards (including Best Picture) a year later. Suddenly, big names wanted in on what was once Hollywood’s shame.
All of a sudden Francis Ford Coppola was delivering unto us Bram Stoker’s Dracula. Tom Cruise was starring in a Neil Jordan-directed Interview With the Vampire. Martin Scorsese was remaking Cape Fear and Kenneth Branagh was adapting Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein – both starring Robert De Niro. Hell, even Jack Nicholson played a werewolf. Yes, before A24’s “elevated horror” there was ’90s “prestige horror.” So do yourself a favor and check ou the truly excellent King adaptation (from back when those were few and far between), Misery.

From executive producer Spielberg, Amblin Documentaries, and Silverback Films (the award‑winning team behind Our Planet), The Dinosaurs is a four-part docu-series that follows the rise and fall of these ancient reptiles across more than 150 million years – from their appearance in the Triassic period until their demise in the Cretaceous–Paleogene extinction event. After a brief, select theatrical run, the Peaker Blinders sequel film, from creator Steven Knight (who’s also writing the 16th James Bond film), will land on Netflix on March 20. Star Cillian Murphy returns in the lead role of Thomas Shelby, alongside an ensemble cast including Sophie Rundle, Ned Dennehy, Packy Lee, Ian Peck, and Stephen Graham. New faces to the saga include Rebecca Ferguson, Tim Roth, Jay Lycurgo, and Barry Keoghan (as Thomas Shelby’s son, Duke).
Amidst the chaos of WWII, Tommy Shelby is driven back from a self-imposed exile to face his most destructive reckoning yet. With the future of the family and the country at stake, Tommy must face his own demons, and choose whether to confront his legacy, or burn it to the ground.

Chiming in quickly here to mention that 2017’s The Snowman, starring Michael Fassbender, was one of the most (rightfully) maligned movies of this century, despite it being based on this bestselling Norwegian book series. So here’s a chance, for anyone curious, to check out Detective Hole (ugh) in a proper Norwegian series that may do justice to the books in the way the English adaptation couldn’t.
It’s worth noting that in 2023, six years after its release, The Snowman was confoundingly the #1 movie on Netflix. This may have ultimately led to the decision to pursue a Harry Hole series.
