Death Stranding Isolations is promised to be an original story driven by its “own unique ensemble of characters,” suggesting that Sam Porter Bridges, Fragile, and co. won’t be major players in the narrative.

As previously announced, the series will stream exclusively on Disney+ in 2027, though no exact date was given. The anime is directed by Takayuki Sano, known for doing the key animation, as well as designing creatures and props, directing, and many other duties for a swath of major anime over the years. Most notably, he served as the animation director for Attack on Titan’s final season, as well as episodes of Jujutsu Kaisen and the movie Jujutsu Kaisen 0.

Tow Ubukata is set to compose the series and its screenplay. Ubukata is a noted science fiction author who lent his talents to Psycho-Pass 3 and Psycho-Pass: Providence, Ghost in the Shell: The New Movie, and was the Free Scenario Plotter for Shenmue.

E&H production are animating the series, best known for their work on Undead Unluck: Winter Arc, Ninja Kamui, and the 2026 Magic Knight Rayearth reboot.

Kojima also unveiled a new poster for his upcoming horror game in collaboration with director Jordan Peele, OD Knock, showing Sophia Lillis looking up at a long, red object above her.

This is the latest news from Kojima after the game director expressed an intention to make cameos in films and TV, with an appearance in a ‘big’ live-action film coming up. His studio’s next big action espionage game, Physint, was also in the news recently after changing hands from Sony to Xbox. Thus far, details on this game are still sparse, but Kojima has confirmed a few cast members in Bill Skarsgard, Charlie Fraser and Minami Hamabe.
