Dungeons & Dragons' iconic Baldur's Gate has been recreated as a modern city in Cities: Skylines, using Baldur's Gate 3 as a guide.
Reddit user Impossible_Active271 shared their creation with a handful of side-by-side screenshots, showing how the medieval fantasy city of Baldur's Gate has been reimagined as something one might see today.
Main streets have been replaced with highways, pubs have been replaced with diners, towers have been replaced with skyscrapers, and so on. Even the statue in the middle of the city stands recreated in the Cities: Skyline version.

A top down view of the city is also compared with a map of Baldur's Gate, showing how the modern city similarly folds around the ocean with docks jutting out.
It's not the first time fans of one particular game have expressed their appreciation in another. Fellow fantasy role-playing game The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim is often the subject of such projects, having been recreated in the likes of Far Cry 5 and Age of Empires 2.
Baldur's Gate 3 was the surprise monster hit of 2023, as the Dungeons & Dragons-based game captured the attention of fans in unprecedented ways with its seemingly unlimited ways to tackle a seemingly unlimited number of situations.
In our 10/10 review of the game, IGN said: "With crunchy, tactical RPG combat, a memorable story with complex characters, highly polished cinematic presentation, and a world that always rewards exploration and creativity, Baldur's Gate 3 is the new high-water mark for CRPGs."
