Cosmetically, the Switch Pro and Switch 2 Pro controller are nearly identical. Both feature the same excellent build quality and heft that sets them apart from most other third party controllers. The Switch Pro works great on the new Switch 2 console, but there are some missing features that you only get with the newer Pro controller. For example, the newer controller now has two rear paddle switches, a GameChat button, and headphone jack. Also, although the Switch Pro controller supports HD rumble with haptic feedback, the new Switch 2 Pro controller has upgraded “HD Rumble 2”. Finally, the Switch 2 Pro controller can wake the Switch 2 console, but the original Switch Pro controller cannot. If you can do without these features, you’ll save $30 and still get a very cool officially licensed Zelda controller.
