Transformers One Exclusive Clip Features Steve Buscemi's Starscream

IGN has an exclusive sneak peek at the new animated film Transformers One before it opens in theaters this Friday, September 20th.

In this never-before-seen clip, which can be viewed via the player above or the embed below, young versions of Optimus Prime (voiced by Chris Hemsworth), Megatron (Brian Tyree Henry), Bumblebee (Keegan-Michael Key), and Arcee (Scarlett Johansson) are interrogated by Starscream (Steve Buscemi) who wants to determine whether they’re spies.

As evident from the clip, Transformers One is a more comedic, family-friendly take on the lore. The Josh Cooley-directed prequel – the first-ever fully CG-animated Transformers movie – chronicles how worker ‘bots Orion Pax and D-16 went from brothers-in-arms to become the sworn enemies known as Optimus Prime and Megatron.

Johansson’s Arcee begins as Elita-1, while Key’s proto-Bumblebee is then known as B-127. In addition to Buscemi, the voice cast also includes Laurence Fishburne and Jon Hamm.

In our past coverage of Transformers One, we’ve seen Chris Hemsworth, Brian Tyree Henry, and Keegan-Michael Key play with their own action figures at San Diego Comic-Con, learned why Chris Hemsworth didn’t want to mimic Peter Cullen in his portrayal of Optimus Prime, and why the director wants audiences to understand Megatron better through the film.
