When Venom: The Last Dance releases later this week, it will cap off Sony's trilogy and mark the end of Tom Hardy's time as Venom and Eddie Brock. Well, probably.
Hardy, who apparently had a great time playing Spider-Man's symbiotic nemesis, seemingly keeps teasing a possible return. Speaking with IGN, Hardy talked about what the character means to him while suggesting he's open to picking up the role again.
Tom Hardy is open to playing Eddie Brock and Venom again:

"I've loved every moment of Eddie and Venom and I was really fond of them," Hardy said. "I'd play them any time, you know, because there's a special place that exists within me to want to operate those two characters wherever you put them in whatever capacity. I feel like a sense of obligation and responsibility and duty of care to those two that will never end. I'll always be with them."
Billed as the third and apparently final entry in the Venom series, Venom: The Last Dance features Eddie Brock and the symbiote on the run from the military after the events of Venom 2. In addition to completing the trilogy, the movie will introduce more symbiotes, possibly for future movies of their own.
Hardy's comments follow his appearance at New York Comic-Con over the weekend to promote Venom: The Last Dance, in which he said that he wants to "fight Spider-Man right now" and he's "well up for it… Never say never." Sony, for its part, is keen to continue on with its run of Spidey villain movies. It's currently preparing an ultra-violent Kraven the Hunter movie for release in December, and Venom: The Last Dance director Kelly Marcel has said that Knull's debut is just the beginning.
When combined with the direct link forged between Venom and the MCU and the superhero genre's penchant for cameos, it hardly seems like Hardy's time playing Eddie and Venom is done. But for now, he's reflective as the Venom trilogy comes to a close.
"But yeah, we have a trilogy deal. And we had to establish Venom and Eddie and the time has run out. It's sad in some aspects, but also I feel that we did what we came to do and we've had a great time doing it. And I'm really grateful for the experience," Hardy says.
