Folks, we’ve nearly made it to Black Friday. As we all know, it’s always one of the best times to go wild buying phyiscal media for yourself and others. As part of its Black Friday Week Sale, Amazon is cutting prices on tons of Blu-rays and 4K UHD discs. Some of the standout offers are on movies and TV shows at their lowest prices ever (and others are matching prices that haven’t been seen since July 2023). Take a look at 11 of the highlights I found below:
Dune 2-Film Collection – 45% Off
As it was written: This collection of Denis Villenueve’s Dune movies is at its best-ever price for Black Friday. Gift it alongside the three-book Dune box set so that your loved one can mentally prepare themselves for the wild shit that’s to come in Dune 3 in (hopefully) 2026.
Mad Max: Fury Road – 48% Off
The best way to honor Mad Max: Fury Road’s below-the-line Oscars sweep of technical awards is by watching it on the highest-quality disc available (on one of the nicest TVs you can get, if you can swing it).
Mad Max 5-Film Collection – Limited Edition – 30% Off
What’s better than one Mad Max movie? The entire collection of George Miller’s Mad Max movies, obviously. Score this thick limited edition box set, which usually goes for $100, for $70 in Amazon’s Black Friday deal. (For reference, the standalone Furiosa steelbook currently costs the same amount.)
The Thing – 63% Off
If you didn’t snatch up The Thing either time it was discounted during Amazon’s Prime Days in July or October, then good for you: This is actually the lowest price John Carpenter’s classic in 4K UHD has been since July 2023. For $11, you’re getting one of the best horror movies ever starring one of the greatest hats ever seen in film.
The Dark Knight Trilogy – 58% Off
You can never go wrong picking up Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight Trilogy, either for yourself or someone else. This collection hasn’t been this cheap since July 2023.
Batman: The Complete Animated Series – 63% Off
The price on this collection of Batman: The Animated Series drops pretty reliably throughout the year during other big sales events, but here’s another opportunity to pick up this iconic early ’90s series on a solid discount.
The Shining – 74% Off
Stephen King doesn’t like this movie, but who cares. The Shining is amazing, duh, and for just $11, it’d be nearly foolish to pass on this at its lowest price of the year.
CC40 – The Criterion Collection – 50% Off
Listen, I’m aware that, at $400, this recently released Criterion 40th Annversary box set does not seem like a great deal. But think of it this way: For half the price it normally goes for, you’re getting 40 of the best films ever made on Blu-ray for $10 a disc. If that’s still too rich for your blood, Amazon has a ton of individual movies from the Criterion Collection on sale for Black Friday, too.
The Fast and the Furious – 20th Anniversary Limited Edition Steelbook – 54% Off
When was the last time you watched the first Fast and the Furious? For me, it’s a lot more recently than I’d care to admit, but I can confidently report that it holds up. This 20th Anniversary limited edition steelbook is a great get for your movie collection at this price. I especially like it because it comes with character photo cards, like Vin Diesel is a K-pop idol or something.
Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Limited Edition Steelbook – 16% Off
If you haven’t seen the trailer for Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning, you should stop reading this and go watch it ASAP because Tom Cruise says in barely-veiled dialogue that, once again, that he’s here to save the movies. It rocks. Anyway, the limited edition steelbook of the movie formerly known as Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One is getting discounted for Black Friday, and 16% might not seem huge, but this is still its lowest price ever.
Harry Potter: 8-Film Collection – 56% Off
It’s all eight Harry Potter movies at this collection’s lowest-ever price. A nice gift for the Potter freaks on your list.
