The Well Is Not Empty, a New Retro-3D Horror Game, Announced for PC

The Well Is Not Empty, a stylized first-person psychological horror game developed by tweakEra. Players will explore a dark, abandoned underground structure beneath a village that's been deprived of water. Investigate the occurrence, find hidden secrets, and survive at all costs. It's in development for PC.

As you can see in the trailer above and in the screenshot gallery below, The Well Is Not Empty is purposely styled to look like a PS1-era retro-3D game. It's set at the bottom of a well where you'll bear witness to a ritual that was never meant to be seen.

“I want players to feel like they're having an awesome adventure but still carrying a constant sense of dread and despair throughout the journey," developer tweakEra said. "It’s almost like ‘wholesome’ horror.” You'll have to activate rotting machinery to light up the darkness of what's at the bottom of the well and navigate abandoned tunnels, digging with your rusty spoon.

You can wishlist The Well Is Not Empty on Steam if you're interested.
