The Paper Set to Deliver The Office Spinoff With September Release Date

Peacock’s The Office spinoff, The Paper, has a streaming release date of September 4, 2025.

The upcoming Ohio-set series, which takes place in the same universe as the Steve Carell-led business comedy, is scheduled to publish four episodes on Peacock upon its release date this September. Peacock adds that two new episodes will follow each week on Thursdays through September 25.

The Paper puts a lens up to a dying Midwestern newspaper called the Toledo Truth Teller. Viewers will learn its story through the eyes of the same documentary crew that made The Office’s Dunder Mifflin Scranton branch so popular. Although it seems fan-favorite names like Michael Scott (Carell), Pam Beesly (Jenna Fischer), Jim Halpert (John Krasinski), and Dwight Schrute (Rainn Wilson) won’t be back for the new show, The Paper has some talent that will have fans eager to tune in.

These include stars like Domhnall Gleeson (Star Wars: Episode VII – The Force Awakens), Sabrina Impacciatore (The White Lotus), Chelsea Frei (The Moodys), and more. Although we have yet to learn who many of The Paper’s characters are or their role at the Toledo Truth Teller, we do know that Oscar Nuñez, who played Oscar Martinez in The Office, is back, too.

Another The Office veteran returning for the Peacock spinoff series is Greg Daniels, who serves as creator, executive producer, and writer under his Deedle-Dee Productions banner alongside Nathan For You’s Michael Koman. Daniels is also attached as a director, as are Ken Kwapis, Yana Gorskaya, Paul Lieberstein, Tazbah Chavez, Jason Woliner, Jennifer Celotta, Matt Sohn, Dave Rogers, and Jeff Blitz.

The Paper prints its first four episodes on Peacock September 4. While we wait for an official trailer, you can read up on Carell’s thoughts on The Office spinoff and why he has no plans to be directly involved.
