The Game Awards kicks off at 4:30pm PT this afternoon, and we’re expecting a heap of exciting news, trailers, and world premieres. Of course, in addition to giving us our first glimpse at what’s coming in the world of gaming, the show also looks back, honoring the outstanding games – and developers who make them – of the last year.
Six games are nominated for the top prize of Game of the Year: Astro Bot, Balatro, Black Myth: Wukong, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, Metaphor: ReFantazio, and Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree. Of those, Astro Bot and FFVII Rebirth are the most-nominated across all categories, with seven nods apiece, followed by Metaphor: ReFantazio, with six.
