Tetris Forever, a Collection of Tetris History, Announced for Nintendo Switch

To celebrate its 40th anniversary, a brand new Tetris collection has been announced: Tetris Forever. A game collection that brings together multiple Tetris titles from across history, it has been announced for Nintendo Switch.

Revealed as part of August’s Nintendo Direct: Partner Showcase, Tetris Forever features nine different Tetris games, including the 1988 Famicom version of Tetris, Super Bombliss, Super Tetris 2, and Super Tetris 3.

Perhaps the most exciting inclusion, though, is Tetris Time Warp – a game that jumps between game styles from across the series. It seems a pretty cool remix of the classic game we all know and love.

In an appropriate addition to a collection that celebrates Tetris, the package also includes a documentary that explores the history of one of gaming’s most important creations.

Tetris Forever is planned for release sometime later this year. Also coming in 2024 is the NES version of Tetris, which is coming to Nintendo Switch Online during the winter season, plus a Grand Prix event for Tetris 99, also coming this winter.
