Prime Day is one of the best times to save on just about anything, but one thing I know I spend way too much on is streaming subscriptions. I typically expect the best streaming deals to drop around Cyber Monday, but Amazon has managed to pull through with solid discounts on a spread of Prime Video's Channel Add-Ons. These discounts are available exclusively for Prime members and are only live until midnight (PT) tonight.
Tons of Streaming Add-Ons Are Discounted for Prime Members
These Add-Ons feature the full library of what you’d get on the streaming service’s own site or app but accessed through Prime Video. If you’re like me, it’s actually nice to have all your subscriptions in one spot. You get to see everything you’re paying to watch without bouncing around websites.
Most of these Prime Day deals offer pretty much the same thing: your selected streaming subscription for $0.99/month for two months. The one exception is Apple TV+, which is 50% off, down to $4.99 from $9.99, but with the same two-month limit. All of the deals are live until July 11, the final day of Amazon's sale event.
I’m personally going to pick up Crunchyroll to catch the summer anime season, specifically Dan Da Dan Season 2 and Gachiakuta. I’d also highly recommend checking out Britbox. It’s where you’ll find classic British comedy shows like Would I Lie to You as well as The IT Crowd since it was removed from Netflix.
Anyone Can Get Two Months of Paramount+ Premium for $0.99/Month
All of the deals above are exclusive to Prime members, but the Paramount+ deal is available for anyone. The discount kicked off before Prime Day and is timed with the release of the (literal) resurrection of Dexter and a new season of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds. As the home of the Mission Impossible movies, it’s also where you’ll eventually be able to stream The Final Reckoning.
Starz is also running a general discount, where you can pay $16.99 upfront for a six-month subscription. That breaks down to $3/month, which is still more expensive than the Prime-exclusive offer.
Prime Day’s Also a Great Time for Physical Collectors
Streaming services aren’t the best for consistency, and there’s always a chance something you paid to watch eventually gets removed. Also, having a physical media collection is very cool.
Either way, if you’re in the market for DVDs or Blu-rays, Prime Day has got you covered. Amazon is currently running a “Buy 2 Get 1 Free” deal on thousands of Blu-rays in addition to tons of individual discounts, including 50% off The Criterion Collection and tons of anime deals. Go crazy.
