March saw the arrival of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles in Magic: The Gathering, but we're going somewhere a little more, well, Magic: The Gathering next.
Strixhaven's school of magic is opening its doors once more with Secrets of Strixhaven, and it's creeping up on us. The set is likely to be popular for anyone who held back from Universes Beyond with TMNT, and we're hopeful of big things.
Here's all you need to know about preordering the set.
Preorder MTG: Secrets of Strixhaven – Out April 24, 2026

The next big release after this one is Marvel Super Heroes, which is also available to preorder (because of course it is).
Play Boosters
Play Booster packs are what you'll use to build out your collection and update your decks. You can purchase packs individually or get the Play Booster box, which contains 30 packs.
Commander Decks
Commander is easily the most popular format among serious and casual players alike. With Secrets of Strixhaven, we'll be getting five new preconstructed Commander decks based around the five classes at the School of Mages.

Theme Decks
There are two Theme Decks in the set for Standard play, each including 60 cards: Eerie, and Lifelink. Both are unavailable at Amazon right now, but expect them to be easier to get hold of at launch.
You can also buy them as a bundle that includes one of each deck.
Collector Boosters – Out of Stock
Collector Boosters are like regular Play Boosters, but you'll receive many of the set's rare chase cards and alternate art foils. There's a reason they're so expensive!
Bundle
Bundles make a great gift or stocking stuffer Magic players. You'll receive nine Play Booster packs, an alternate art foil card, 40 basic lands, and a 20-sided spindown life counter.
Codex Bundle – Out of Stock
Details are still scarce on the Codex Bundle, but we do know this includes two Collector Booster packs, six Play Boosters, two foil promo cards, 20 foil basic lands, and a 20-sided spindown life counter.
Draft Night
While you can use a Play Booster box to draft, the Draft Night kit is specifically set up for groups of four players to do a quick Pick-Two draft.
Prerelease Packs
Looking to host a prerelease event? You can bag one of five bundles, each themed after one of Strixhaven's colleges.
Omens of Chaos
This set is getting a tie-in novel, and it launches on April 4. You can save on it now, and even get a special Command Tower variant with the first edition.
