Score an Alienware Aurora R16 RTX 4070 SUPER Gaming PC for Only $1499.99

As part of the early Dell Labor Day Sale, Dell has dropped the price on this popular Alienware Aurora R16 RTX 4070 SUPER Gaming PC to only $1499.99 after a $400 instant discount. This is a great price for a gaming rig that’s absolutely perfect for 1080p or 1440p gaming. The 14th gen i7 CPU is cooled by a 240mm all-in-one liquid cooling system and the RTX 4070 SUPER is a gen 2 RTX 40 series video card that’s a healthy upgrade in performance compared to the original RTX 4070.

Alienware RTX 4070 SUPER Gaming PC for $1499.99

This model is equipped with an Intel Core i7-14700F CPU, GeForce RTX 4070 SUPER 12GB GPU, 16GB of DDR5-5600MHz RAM, and a 1TB NVMe SSD. The 14th-gen Intel Core i7-14700F Raptor Lake Refresh CPU boasts a max clock of 5.4GHz with 20 cores, 28 threads, and a 33MB cache. This is Intel’s newest i7 chip and it boasts a higher clock speed, more cores, more threads, and more cache than the 13th-gen i7-13700 CPU. The i7 CPU is generally considered to be nearly identical to the i9 in terms of gaming performance because the vast majority of games out there can’t take advantage of the i9’s extra cores.

The RTX 4070 SUPER video card is a significant improvement in performance over the 4070 (about 10%-15% faster at 1440p). Like all RTX 40 series cards, the RTX 4070 SUPER supports DLSS 3.0, which gives it an edge in performance over similarly priced AMD GPUs. Check out our RTX 4070 SUPER review for more details. This is the best NVIDIA card to get for 1080p or 1440p gaming; the RTX 4070 Ti/SUPER starts to get a little overkill at a higher price, and the RTX 4060 Ti is considerably underpowered compared to the 4070. The RTX 4070 SUPER also has 12GB of VRAM compared to the 4070’s 8GB, which helps at higher resolutions and for apps like Stable Diffusion that benefit from large amounts of VRAM.

Why Pick a Dell or Alienware Gaming PC?

The Alienware Aurora R16 is one of our picks for best prebuilt gaming PCs of 2024. The current generation R16 chassis is 40% smaller in volume compared to previous iterations but also boasts better thermal management. It features a simple yet proven airflow design; air is drawn in through the side intake vents over the GPU area as well as a 120mm rear fan drawing air in and a 240mm all-in-one liquid cooler exhausts air out through the top. Another benefit of the side vent is that the GPU isn’t choked for air; it is supplied with fresh air from the outside instead of recirculating hot internal air like in other PC cases.

Not everyone is the DIY type, and these days prebuilt gaming PC aren’t that much more expensive than building your own computer. In fact, depending on the demand of certain components like the GPU, it might even be cheaper. Alienware desktops offer a staggering array of options, all built into a custom chassis that’s both easy on the eyes and easy on the wallet. Consistent build quality, available inventory, frequent sales, and solid customer service are the main reasons why Dell is at the top of our buying list.
