Walmart has discounted the popular 34" LG UltraGear 34GN850-B gaming monitor to $499, a 33% price drop from its $750 MSRP. Note that this is the exact same monitor as the 34GP83A-B monitor that's sold for a higher price on Amazon. The GN850 is a high-end Nano IPS gaming monitor with great features and specs that – unlike Mini LED and OLED gaming monitors – doesn't cost an arm and a leg.
34" LG UltraGear 34GN850-B Gaming Monitor for $499
The LG GP83A is a 34" 3440×1440 ultra-wide gaming monitor with a Nano IPS panel. Nano IPS was the best panel found on an LG gaming monitor before OLED technology took root. LG's Nano IPS panel is essentially a fast IPS panel with QLED-like technology. The fast IPS panel gives you a 1ms response time and 144Hz (OC'able to 160Hz) refresh rate with super wide viewing angles. The quantum dot panel gives you excellent color reproduction (DCI-P3 98%) and wide color gamut. DisplayPort and HDMI ports are available, and this monitor is both AMD FreeSync 2 certified and G-SYNC compatible.
This is one of the best 34" ultra-wide gaming monitors you'll get for $500 or less. OLED and Mini LED gaming monitors do offer better image quality, but only if you're willing to fork over upwards of $1000. If you're looking for more alternatives, check out our best gaming monitor picks of 2024.
