It’s available to preorder for $40 from Amazon now, and releases on December 1 of this year.
The Deluxe Edition of Project Hail Mary is a gorgeous hardcover printing of Andy Weir’s third novel. It follows Doctor of molecular biology Ryland Grace, an unassuming middle school science teacher who is somehow now the key to saving our dying sun.
When he’s sent to the distant star Tau Ceti, he comes across an unlikely friend whose world is suffering the same dire crisis as Earth’s, and they work together to solve the cosmic mystery.
This version of the book includes the entire 496-page story, printed on vibrant stenciled-edge pages. The cover jacket has new art that’s similar to its original printing, and the endpapers are fully illustrated in the style of the planet Adrian’s colors and descriptions from the book.
Project Hail Mary was released in theaters on March 20 to both critical and commercial success, earning an 8 out of 10 from Tom Jorgensen in his review for IGN, where he said it’s “rollicking sci-fi blockbuster celebrating how much we can accomplish when we work together”.
