PlayStation VR 2 Is on Sale for $200 Off, a New All-Time Low Price

Any PlayStation fan who’s curious about virtual reality is in luck. Right now, in addition to launching a huge PS5 game sale, Sony is dropping prices on PSVR 2 to new all-time lows. You can get a PlayStation VR 2 for $349.99 at all the major retailers right now. And if you want a pack-in game, the Horizon Call of the Mountain PSVR 2 bundle is on sale for $399.99. That’s the biggest discount we’ve ever seen on both items. And it comes at great time, with Sony adding PSVR 2-PC compatibility next month, so you can play PC VR games on the headset starting on August 7. Let’s dive in.

What We Said in Our Review

In IGN’s PSVR 2 review, critic Gabriel Moss wrote:

“PlayStation VR2 … [is] such a quantum leap over the original PSVR in terms of ease of use, visual quality, and immersion that any PlayStation owner who loves VR should upgrade as soon as possible. Its 4K HDR OLED screen and excellently tactile Sense controllers are the most obvious improvement, but plentiful quality-of-life changes and the raw horsepower of the PS5 set a new standard for how VR games should play and feel on console. The downside is that, like any new platform, its thin launch lineup makes its lack of backward compatibility with original PSVR games a significant problem, but one that will only improve as Sony and other developers roll out new games that take advantage of the PSVR2’s unique features.”

For those of you eager to try out your PSVR 2 headset on PC, you can download the PSVR 2 Steam app now. You’ll need that app to prep your PC for PSVR 2 compatibility, and to update the firmware on your headset so it knows to play nice with your computer. You’ll also need a PSVR 2 PC adapter, which will apparently go live at retailers on August 7. It’s not available for preorder at the time of this writing.
