One of the Best Power Banks for the Steam Deck or Asus ROG Ally Is on Sale for Black Friday

Ahead of Black Friday, Amazon is offering the Anker Prime 20,000mAh USB Power Bank for only $77.99 after you clip the 40% off coupon on the product page. This is the best price we’ve seen for 2024 (the previous lowest price was $89.99 on Amazon Prime Day). The Anker Prime is the successor to the Anker 737 that we deemed the best Steam Deck and Asus ROG Ally charger. It boasts a 20,000mAh capacity and 200W of charging, and it’s TSA-approved.

Anker Prime 20,000mAh Power Bank for $89.99

Add a charging dock for $20

The Anker Prime is a sizeable power bank, measuring 5″x2″x2″ and weighing in at 1.2 pounds. The big digital display provides useful information like remaining battery capacity, power input, and power output from each port. It has two USB Type-C ports and one USB Type-A port. The USB-C ports can deliver up to 100W per port (200W across both ports) and the USB-A port can deliver up to 65W. The Steam Deck supports up to 38W of charging, the Asus ROG Ally up to 65W, and the Nintendo Switch up to 18W. The Anker Prime can charge all three gaming handhelds at their maximum rate, which means you’ll be able to play and charge at the same time.

The Anker Prime has a 20,000mAh capacity or 72Wh battery. The ROG Ally and Steam Deck both consume about 40Whr going from full to empty. If you factor in 80% power efficiency, then you should expect the Anker Prime to charge either gaming handheld about 1.5 times. The Nintendo Switch has a 4,310mAh capacity or 16Whr battery, so it can be charged about 3.5 times. As a comparison, a 10,000mAh power bank cannot fully charge a Steam Deck even once.

The Anker Prime is TSA approved

Spare lithium ion and lithium metal batteries, including power banks and cell phone battery charging cases, must be brought on carry-on baggage only. Power banks must be under either 27,000mAh or 100Whr in capacity. This Anker Prime is well below that threshold so it can be brought onto airplanes without worry.

This is one of the best Steam Deck deals and Nintendo Switch Black Friday deals available right now; they’re absolutely worth considering if you find yourself short on power all too often. Lenovo Legion Go 1TB Gaming Handheld

Lenovo is teasing Black Friday with this excellent deal on one of the best gaming handhelds on the market, especially if you prefer a Windows-based operating system. Right now you can pick up a Lenovo Legion Go 1TB gaming handheld for only $579.99 shipped after a $170 off instant discount. The Legion Go shares similar specs as the Asus ROG Ally Z1 Extreme model, but with a bigger and sharper display, detachable controllers, and a larger battery.

Should You Buy Now or Wait for Black Friday?

Black Friday is only a few weeks away and in most cases it’s better to wait to buy tech accessories. However, it’s very unlikely that this specific deal will get any better. The Anker Prime is already at its lowest historical price, so we don’t expect any further discounts to happen this year. If you’re looking for a slimmer, smaller capacity power bank, then you should definitely wait for more deals to drop on Black Friday.
