Skybound's Universal Monsters: Frankenstein is one of the most memorable takes on the iconic monster to come along in years. Now creator Michael Walsh is closing out 2024 with another new project called Nullhunter: An OLYMP0S Saga, one that combines a cyberpunk aesthetic with Greek mythology.
With the final order cutoff for Nullhunter #1 happening on September 30, IGN can exclusively debut a new preview of the second and third chapters of the series. Check out this new art in the slideshow gallery below:
Nullhunter is written by Walsh and illustrated by Gustaffo Vargas (Marvel’s Voices X-Men). Here's the official plot description for Nullhunter:
In Nullhunter, Clay is a war hero who faces unspeakable tragedy after returning home. Seeking justice, he's forced into service for his estranged father’s powerful company, OLYMP0S. His first mission takes him to faraway N3M-3A on the trail of a hijacked shipment of war lions. In seeking exoneration, this quest of twelve near-impossible labors will lead Clay to the very edges of space as he discovers the true source of evil in the cosmos.
"As a young boy obsessed with classical mythology, I'd always imagined creating my own rendition of the Greek tales of tragedy and heroism. Nullhunter is just that…a wholly new reimagining of those ageless stories with a Cyberpunk bend," Walsh tells IGN. "At some point in development, I realized that I couldn't do the art for the book myself. I knew it would be a Promethean task to find the right artist. I'd already been a huge fan of Gustaffo's Peruvian Cyberpunk comics and when his availability lined up, I was over the moon."
Walsh continues, "Gustaffo brings such a distinct personality to all the designs and world-building. His art and sensibilities are what really make the book sing, and it just would not be the same without him."
Nullhunter: An OLYMP0S Saga #1 will be released on Wednesday, October 23.
