New Pirate RPG 'Sea of Legends' Announced, Led by Shadowrun and Crimson Skies Creator

The creator of Shadowrun, BattleTech, and Crimson Skies – Jordan Weisman – has announced a new deck-building, fantasy-infused, pirate-themed isometric CRPG called Sea of Legends. It's based on the narrative open-world board game of the same name. It's in development now for PC.

The original Sea of Legends board game was created by Zach Weisman and Ryan Schapals. The video game adaptation is being led by Weisman and a team of game-development veterans who've worked on Darkest Dungeon, Dead Rising 4, Deus Ex: Mankind Divided, Skull and Bones, and Ascension. It promises "treasure, adventure, and romance." Check out the first trailer above and the first screenshots in the gallery below.

Gameplay is described as follows: "Set in a systems driven dynamic world, players will seek ships to plunder, towns to raid, ancient treasures to discover, lovers to woo, and nemesis to vanquish. Their character development and the crew they recruit will develop the card decks that drive boarding actions, bar fights, deadly duels, and tactical combat against other pirates, Royal Navies, and the unnatural creatures they’ve aligned with."

Check it out on Kickstarter if you're interested.
