LEGO has announced an upcoming set based on the new game LEGO Horizon Adventures. The set is called LEGO Horizon Adventures Aloy & Varl vs. Shell-Walker & Sawtooth, and it’s available for preorder (see it at Amazon) for $44.99, with a release date of March 1. It looks like a fine set for any fan of the blocky re-telling of the original Horizon game.

The set has 768 pieces and lets you build nicely a articulated Shell-Walker and Sawtooth, two enemies from the video game. It also comes with two minifigures: Aloy, who is equipped with her trusty bow accessory, and Varl, who comes armed with a spear that can do fire, chill, and shock attacks. Also included are a couple of environmental elements, with a campfire and treasure chest, as well as some alien flora.
This isn’t the first time Sony and LEGO have gotten together for a collaboration based on the robo-dinosaur series. A Tallneck LEGO set based on Aloy and the towering robotic creature came out in 2022. That set was a LEGO set for adults, which meant it was intended for fans of the original (non-LEGO-themed) M-rated video game, and was meant as a display piece rather than for play.
This new LEGO Horizon Adventures set is meant for anyone who enjoys the new video game, which is to say it’s a LEGO set for kids. The age recommendation on the box is 9+, which means it’s a less ambitious build than the previous set, and the resulting constructions are sturdy enough to hold up to play sessions with kids.
