Amazon's Big Spring sale is happening next week (March 25-31), and it's a pretty decent time to find discounts on a little bit of everything. This is only the third year in a row that Amazon has offered the sale, but it's looking to be similar to what we saw in 2025. The retail giant has an official press release, announcing that the deals will last over a five day period and primarily focus on seasonally relevant products. The Big Spring Sale will be open to all once again this year, but with some exclusive discounts for Prime Members only.
Many different outlets have taken to likening the sale to Amazon Prime Day before the deals arrived. Now that the sale is almost here, we are taking a closer look atwhat discount we expect to see through the lens of Amazon's Prime Day deals. How does the Big Spring Sale compare?
The Big Spring Sale vs. Prime Day
Right of the bat, it's worth noting that the Big Spring Sale is not nearly as big as Amazon's Prime Day sale. While there will certainly some good deals available, the sheer number of items on sale can't really compare to the Amazon summer sale. The product mix for the deals is also very different, with less of a focus on big-ticket items like gaming consoles and more of a focus on clothing and household items. That being said, the Big Spring Sale has the advantage of lasting a full five days, which is three days longer than a typical Prime Day sale (though technically last year was longer). These discounts are also available to non-Prime members, unlike many of the deals on Prime Day.
What's Not Going to be on Sale?
One of the biggest differences between Amazon's Big Spring sale and Prime Day is the significant lack of deals on certain categories. The most obvious area that stands out here based on 2025 is that there was a lack of very many good video game deals. Prime Day is typically one of the best times to buy video games and console accessories every year, so if you're looking for those specifically, you'll likely still have to wait for the summer sale for better deals. Amazon has already launched some Switch 2 game deals ahead of the event this year, however, so it's possible that's going to change in 2026.
There also don't appear to be any major Apple deals attached to the Big Spring Sale. Although there are some discounted iPads and Apple Watches on Amazon, the prices on those items aren't nearly low enough to be considered at a Prime Day or Black Friday level.
Amazon Devices Will Likely Be Cheaper on Prime Day
Amazon devices traditionally have some of the deepest discounts on Prime Day and Black Friday, and while the Big Spring Sale does have some pretty good discounts on these devices, they aren't as good as they could be. The latest Echo Dot is was on sale for $39.99 in 2025, but dropped as low as $22.99 on Black Friday last year. It's a similar story for the Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K, which was priced at $29.99 during the Big Spring Sale, but dropped down to $24.99 during the holiday season just months ago. So while the discounts are here are still likely to be better than full price, they will probably drop even further for Prime Day this year.
What Deals Should You Shop Before Prime Day?
If you're hoping to save as much money as possible in 2024, Amazon's Big Spring Sale is still a great time to find discounts. While you may want to hold off on buying any big budget items like consoles, Apple products, or other expensive devices, the discounts on household items are worth a look during the Big Spring Sale. There are already early discounts on everyday things like diapers, toothpaste, trash bags, and various cleaning supplies you may be stocking up on for spring. Amazon is also likely to have a few noteworthy deals on recreational games like cornhole and pickleball that are worth looking into ahead of the summer season.
