The World of Darkness is expanding with Hunter: The Reckoning – Deathwish, a first-person action game based on a tabletop classic.

The surprise announcement arrived in the form of a trailer while kicking off the March 2026 Xbox Partner Preview today. Following a group on the hunt for a dangerous vampire, the footage gives players a taste of its atmosphere ahead of its planned launch for Xbox on PC, Cloud, and Xbox Series X | S in summer 2027.

Hunter: The Reckoning – Deathwish will eventually arrive as the latest entry into the World of Darkness, which includes other dark fantasy series like Vampire: The Masquerade, Werewolf: The Apocalypse, and more. While this corner of the universe got its start in the tabletop realm, Deathwish isn’t the first time it’s taken a stab at gaming.

In 2002, fans were treated to a Hunter: The Reckoning video game for the Nintendo GameCube and original Xbox. With its hack-and-slash gameplay and four-player co-op support, we gave its original Xbox release an 8.7/10 review.

Deathwish will cut into its dark fantasy world once again when it launches next summer. In the meantime, check out everything announced at the March 2026 Xbox Partner Preview while we wait for updates.
