Hulu Renews Hit Drama Paradise For Its Third Season Ahead of Season 2 Finale

Hulu’s hit new show Paradise has officially been renewed for its third season, just under two weeks ahead of the show’s season 2 finale.

The series, which stars Sterling K. Brown, will air its final episode of the season on March 30 before heading onto season 3 thanks to Hulu’s renewal. The streamer definitely sees the series as a show that still has growth potential, and the numbers don’t lie. In fact, Paradise has been in the show’s Top 15 of Today list since the beginning of season 2 late last month.

According to Disney via Deadline, the show has amassed an impressive amount of viewership time between its first and second seasons — a whopping almost 12 billion minutes watched worldwide — which adds to the case for why Hulu would renew Paradise yet again.

Season 1 was an awards darling, garnering four Emmy nominations. The show snagged recognition for Outstanding Drama Series, Brown was nominated for his performance, while costars James Marsden and Julianne Nicholson were also recognized.

Season 2 has been intense, so it’s clear fans want to see the story continue to unfold. According to Deadline, the season 2 synopsis reads, “After finding out survivors — including his wife, Teri (Enuka Okuma) — remain in the outside world in the Season 1 finale, Xavier (Brown) embarks on a quest to find her, journeying out from the Paradise bunker for the first time since the planet’s destruction. While he searches for her, he encounters bands of survivors and learns how they survived the three years since catastrophe struck Earth. Back in Colorado, tensions continue rising to the surface as the community grapples with broken trust and newly unveiled secrets.”

This season stars Brown, Okuma, Krys Marshall, Aliyah Mastin, Sarah Shahi, Nicole Brydon Bloom, Charlie Evans, and Percy Daggs IV. Marsden returns to guest star alongside Thomas Doherty, Jon Beavers, and Shailene Woodley.

Paradise was created by Dan Fogelman, who writes and executive produces on the series, which is available to stream now on Hulu.
