15 years after Gearbox and 2K released the first Borderlands, the video game franchise is bringing its chaotic violence to the big screen by way of director Eli Roth and an all-star cast that includes Cate Blanchett, Kevin Hart, Jamie Lee Curtis, and Jack Black.

Borderlands Streaming Release Date
Borderlands will eventually be released on Starz, rather than Netflix or Disney+, followed by Peacock, given distributor Lionsgate’s licensing deals.
Lionsgate has yet to announce a streaming release date for Borderlands. Two of the distributor’s next movies to hit streaming — The Strangers: Chapter One and Imaginary — will come to Starz 136 and 180 days after their respective theatrical debuts. Should the distributor follow suit here, Borderlands would come to Starz between Christmas and early February.

Borderlands is an adaptation of Gearbox and 2K’s high-octane, looter-shooter video game franchise. Here’s the official synopsis from Lionsgate:
Lilith, an infamous bounty hunter with a mysterious past, reluctantly returns to her home, Pandora, the most chaotic planet in the galaxy. Her mission is to find the missing daughter of Atlas, the universe’s most powerful S.O.B.
Lilith forms an unexpected alliance with a ragtag team of misfits – Roland, a seasoned mercenary on a mission; Tiny Tina, a feral pre-teen demolitionist; Krieg, Tina’s musclebound protector; Tannis, the oddball scientist who’s seen it all; and Claptrap, a wiseass robot.
