Everything Coming to Netflix in April 2026

Netflix in April will take us back to Hawkins, Indiana, for a Stranger Things animated series that takes place in the winter between Seasons 2 and 3: Stranger Things: Tales of ’85! But that’s not all. Buckle up for the brutal reckoning of a Man on Fire series, a second season of the acclaimed Beef, a bunch of Mission Impossible movies (save for the final three), the Madagascar franchise (plus those pesky Penguins!), movies featuring killer sharks and mauling lions, and a “survive the psycho” wilderness flick starring Charlize Theron!

So even while you ponder the how/why/who of Netflix raising its prices once again, here’s a rundown of every series, special, movie, and doc landing on Netflix in April…

Idris Elba stars in this solid B-thriller about a father protecting his daughters from a rogue man-eating lion on a South African game reserve. Directed by Baltasar Kormákur (whose film Everest is available on April 1, and who also might show up again in the highlights later on this list), Beast is a nifty morsel of survival horror that also stars Sharlto Copley, Iyana Halley, and Percy Jackson & the Olympians’ Leah Jeffries. A pregnant woman, an agoraphobe, and a marine researcher must band together to survive the waves of murder filling their streets.

Thrash stars Phoebe Dynevor (Bridgerton), Whitney Peak (Chilling Adventures of Sabrina) , Alyla Browne (Sonic the Hedgehog 3), and Djimon Hounsou.

Turn of the Tide: Season 3 (Portugal, series)

A Quiet Place Part II (movie, 2020)

Highlight: A Quiet Place Part II

With the cast of A Quiet Place Part III recently announced — including Sinners’ Jack O’ Connell, Dawn of the Planet of the Apes’ Jason Clarke, and Love Lies Bleeding’s Katy O’Brian — it’s a great time to revisit Part II, the crafty world-expanding sequel to John Krasinski’s 2018 monster movie smash. In Part II, Krasinski coninues to put the (remaining members of) the Abbott family through the wringer. It’s a highly exciting and well-acted follow-up!

BEEF: Season 2 (series)

Highlight: BEEF Season 2

The first season of Lee Sung Jin’s Beef, starring Steven Yeun and Ali Wong, won the Emmy for Outstanding Limited or Anthology Series (among others). It was a taut, 10-episode story about two strangers whose hostile acts toward one another escalate over the course of weeks following a road rage incident between them. It was a funny, harrowing operatic tale about the cost of unaddressed rage, narcissism, and trauma.

Season 2 of this anthology series stars Oscar Isaac, Carey Mulligan, Charles Melton, and Cailee Spaeny and will focus, this time, on dueling couples, specifically a competition to win the favor of the billionaire owner of the country club where they work.

Jake Schreier (Thunderbolts, the upcoming MCU X-Men film) returns to direct more Beef, much like he did in Season 1.

In this Adam Sandler-produced comedy, Sadie Sandler (Happy Gilmore 2) and Chloe East (Heretic) play freshman college roommates who get along initially but soon see their friendship spiral into a bitter battle of passive aggressive behavior.

The supporting cast features some fun names like Sarah Sherman, Nick Kroll, Janeane Garofalo, Carol Kane, Natasha Lyonne, and even Adam Sandler himself.

Flunked (France, series)Running Point: Season 2 (series)Stranger Things: Tales From ’85 (series)

Highlight: Stranger Things: Tales From ’85

Need more Stranger Things in your life? Even if (or especially if?) it’s in animated form?! And the characters are all voiced by different foks? Do you also have a burning need to know what happened between Seasons 2 and 3, in the winter? Before all the Starcourt Mall stuff? Then Tales of ’85 is for you!

Check out Everything You Need to Know about Stranger Things: Tales from ’85 here!

Is this canon? How does Tales from ’85 fit in? If they fought monsters between seasons, why wouldn’t that come up in conversation during seasons? The idea here is that it’s loose canon, like The Real Ghostbusters cartoon, in that nothing the characters do on Tales from ’85 will contradict the main show. But, yeah, it’s just some harmless retconning. Think of the show as being “inspired by” Stranger Things, in a way.

April 24

Apex (movie)

Highlight: Apex

Charlize Theron stars in this thriller from director Baltasar Kormákur (‘memba him?) about a rock climber who finds herself being stalked by a hunter (Taron Egerton) in the wild. Who will be the apex predator in this scenario? Our bet’s on Theron. Though Eric Bana is also in the movie. But, yeah, it’s still Theron. It’s always Theron.

April 26

Supernova: Genesis (Mexico, live event)

April 27

Straight to Hell (Japan, series)

April 29

Je m’appelle Agneta (Sweden, movie)Million Dollar Secret: Season 2 (series, new eps)Should I Marry A Murderer? (UK, doc)

April 30

Man on Fire (series)

Highlight: Man on Fire

There’ve been two movies adapted from A. J. Quinnell’s 1980 novel, Man on Fire: The mostly forgotten 1987 film, starring starring Scott Glenn, and the truly excellent Tony Scott-directed Denzel Washington flick from 2004 that was a far superior Punisher movie than the actual Punisher movie that came out, literally, the week before.

Now Man on Fire is a series! It comes from Kyle Killen (Awake, Halo) and stars Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as burned-out Special Forces merc John Creasy. It will adapt Man on Fire and also, apparently, Quinnell’s sequel novel, The Perfect Kill. All seven episodes drop on April 30. Billie Boullet, Alice Braga, Scoot McNairy, Paul Ben-Victor, and Bobby Cannavale also star.

What’s Leaving Netflix in April 2026

Here’s a quick look at everything leaving Netflix in April, including — well — all of the James Bond movies that arrived at the start of February. Also, relevant to the list above, the 2004 Man on Fire is leaving on the 1st, so you’ve got just a few days from when this piece goes up to catch it!

Also, you have a few weeks to watch all four seasons of Black Sails. It’s spectacular. Do it.
