Amazon's Prime Day is in full swing, which means savings of all kinds are afoot. Among the deals, just like every year, Amazon's very own Kindle devices are on sale. So if you're in the market for a new ebook reader, now's a great time to buy. Below, we run down all the Prime Day deals on all manner of Kindle devices. You can also check out our picks for the best reading tablets overall if you're in the market for a Kindle alternative.

Amazon Kindle (2022) for $84.99

Honestly, the baseline Kindle, last refreshed in 2022, is the Kindle you probably need. I have one and I use it all the time, and I love it to pieces. The battery lasts for weeks on a single charge. The backlight is great for reading in whatever lighting conditions you find yourself in (even total darkness). With 16GB of storage, it holds tons of books and magazines. You can connect it to Libby—if your library offers the service—so you can read ebooks galore for free. It's light and easy to toss in a bag whenever you leave the house. The only recommendation I'd make is to get a cover for it (this one's on sale for $9.99 for Prime Day). And if you don't like ads appearing on the screen each time you turn it on, you can drop $20 off on Jeff Bezos's digital doorstep to remove them.

Amazon Kindle Paperwhite for $134.99

The Kindle Paperwhite came out in 2021, and the baseline Kindle from 2022 (above) matched most of its features. That said, the Paperwhite has a larger display (6.8" vs. 6") and its backlight offers various color temperatures. It's also waterproof, which is great for reading in the tub or pool or jacuzzi or beach. If those features are worth the extra $50 to you, then grab this one. You won't likely regret it.

Amazon Kindle Scribe for $234.99

If we weren't getting fancy with the Paperwhite, we're most definitely getting fancy now, with the Kindle Scribe. This e-ink device features a spacious 10.2" display and offers all the same featuers as other Kindle models with regards to reading digital ebooks. This one also comes with a stylus and doubles as a compact digital notepad for all your note-taking needs. You can import PDFs and Word files and mark them up with rutheless precision. It also has the longest battery life of any Kindle which, considering how long the others last between charges, is really saying something.

Kindle Kids (2022) is $99.99

Kids destroy everything. I should know – I have two of them, and my house is a shambles, littered with the remnants of once-pristine items. If you're getting a Kindle for a kid, the Kindle Kids is the obvious choice. It's 100% just a baseline Kindle (see above), but it comes with a protective case (available in fun designs) a 2-year warranty (necessary for kid-enduced destruction), and a 1-year subscription to Amazon Kids+, which provides lots of ebooks and audiobooks appropriate for kids.
