Dungeons & Dragons Neverwinter Nights 2: Enhanced Edition launches on July 15 on both PC and consoles, marking the very first time Neverwinter Nights 2 is available on the latter.

The Aspyr-developed Enhanced Edition comes with all the DLC packs, as well as console controls and Steam Workshop, while "preserving everything you love about the acclaimed original adventure." It also features visual enhancements and full crossplay for up to four players on PC via Steam and GOG, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X and S.

You can also buy it as part of a bundle — which also launches on July 15 — that includes Neverwinter Nights: Enhanced Edition and Dungeons & Dragons Neverwinter Nights 2: Enhanced Edition.

Neverwinter Nights 2 was originally developed by Obsidian Entertainment and released in 2006 as the sequel to BioWare's Neverwinter Nights. It is of course based on the Dungeons & Dragons fantasy tabletop role-playing game, adapting the 3.5 edition rules.

Neverwinter Nights 2 is set in the Forgotten Realms campaign setting, and as the name of the game suggests, in and around the city of Neverwinter.

"Anyone looking for a lengthy, complex, and engaging single-player role playing experience should look no further than Neverwinter Nights 2," we wrote in our original Neverwinter Nights 2 review way back in 2006.

"Thanks to the inclusion of fully controllable characters, there's plenty of enjoyable tactical combat to be conducted in the many dungeons the game runs you through. On top of that, there's an interesting storyline buffered by hours of fully voiced dialogue, an excellent soundtrack, good writing, and strong characters."
