Dredge+ and More Games Coming to Apple Arcade in April 2026

Each month, Apple Arcade adds new games to its existing lineup of 200+ games. For April 2026, three new games are coming to the service (you can subscribe here), all of which are worth a look. There’s the Lovecraftian horror fishing game Dredge+, the cozy and heartfelt puzzle game Unpacking+, and, for the preschool crowd, My Very Hungry Caterpillar+. The games go live on the service on April 2.

Apple Arcade

As with all Apple Arcade games, none of them have ads or any way to charge you additional money outside of the price of the Apple Arcade subscription ($6.99 per month).

Dredge+

In our Dredge review, critic Gabriel Moss wrote, “Dredge erupted out of the left field as 2023’s most unforgettably creepy fishing simulator. Without spoiling anything, its slow dive into Lovecraftian horror intermingles with subtle elements of seabound thrillers like Jaws and Moby Dick, and yet despite its twists, its fishing and sailing mechanics are simple enough to be relaxing – just as long as you don’t stay out past dark.”

Unpacking+

In our Unpacking review, critic Sarah LeBoeuf wrote, “Unpacking’s greatest achievement is that it tells a story without any of the tools we’d usually consider essential. There’s no dialogue, very little text, and no visible characters. All you have to work with is a series of rooms, dozens of boxes, and the year in which each stage takes place; it’s up to you to put everything together as you see fit. Not only does it work, it’s actually quite moving (pun intended). It certainly made me think about all of the things I’ve packed and unpacked over the years, as well as what they say about me.”

My Very Hungry Caterpillar+

While we don’t have a review of My Very Hungry Caterpillar, the original, non-Apple Arcade version, has a 4.3-star rating on the App Store. This is a game designed for preschoolers, so while it won’t likely appeal to adults, it ought to entertain the under-5 age group. Games like these make Apple Arcade a terrific resource for families with young kids.

Those are the latest in a lineup that includes games from every genre and for every age group. Already on Apple Arcade, you’ll find hits like Stardew Valley, Civilization VII, Balatro, Cult of the Lamb, Katamary Damacy, Goat Simulator, What the Golf, Crossy Road, and a lot more.

If you ask me, Apple Arcade is one of the best gaming subscriptions on the market. It’s basically essential if you want to play quality mobile games on an Apple device, whether it’s an iPhone, iPad, Apple TV, or even MacBook. You can play them on all of those devices. You can even connect your PS5, Xbox, or Switch controller to those devices to play the games.

Apple Arcade stands out against the wider mobile gaming landscape, which is largely a sea of free-to-play slop riddled with ads and premium currencies you can purchase with real money (in bundles that can cost absurd amounts of cash). But if you have an Apple device and you’re looking for quality games that don’t nickel-and-dime you at every turn, subscribing to Apple Arcade is absolutely worth the cost of admission.

Masters of Albion Preview: Peter Molyneux Seems Like He’s Having Fun Making a God Game Again

Masters of Albion is an almost nostalgically cute and sassy vision of the god game genre that veteran game designer Peter Molyneux made his name in. It brings in the elements of a city-builder and an exploration-focused action-RPG. I got an early look at the game by watching Molyneux play […]
