Batman: Caped Crusader Reveals Voice Cast, Including a Midnight Mass Star as the Dark Knight

Prime Video announced on Thursday the cast for its upcoming DC animated series, Batman: Caped Crusader, including the voice of its titular hero.

An X/Twitter video uploaded by Prime Video’s official account revealed that Midnight Mass star Hamish Linklater will play Batman in the animated series. Although the cast reveal trailer, narrated by Linklater, name-dropped the list of actors joining him in the series, it didn’t specify his co-stars’ roles.

Fortunately, Prime Video shed some light on a handful of roles for fan-favorite DC characters in a press release. Key among them are Christina Ricci as Catwoman, Jamie Chung as Harley Quinn, and Diedrich Bader as Two-Face.

Batman: Caped Crusader, created by producers J.J. Abrams, Bruce Timm, and Matt Reeves, has gone through a tumultuous development. A year after its announcement, WB Discovery canceled the series in 2022, citing cost-cutting measures as the cause. This, in turn, led to the show being shopped around by Netflix, Apple, and Hulu before Prime Video officially picked it up for two seasons in 2023.

According to a previously released press release, the series will utilize “state-of-the-art animation techniques” to “reinvent the character and his rogue’s gallery with sophisticated storytelling, nuanced characters, and intense action sequences, all set in a visually striking world.”

Other Batman: Caped Crusader members with yet-to-be-announced roles in the DC series include:

All 10 episodes of Batman: Caped Crusader will simultaneously release on August 1 on Prime Video.
