Amazon Raises Prices for Ad-Free Streaming Tier, Rebrands It Prime Video Ultra

Amazon is raising prices for Prime Video’s ad-free tier, which is also being rebranded as Prime Video Ultra effective April 10, 2026.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Amazon is raising the price to subscribe to ad-free streaming content from $2.99 per month to $4.99.

“Prime Video Ultra subscribers will get exclusive access to 4K/UHD streaming, the ability to have five concurrent streams (up from three), and up to 100 downloads (up from 25),” THR reports.

“Amazon will also be upping the number of downloads on the standard Prime Video plan to 50, and the number of concurrent streams to 4.”

Prime Video recently launched the new Guy Ritchie series Young Sherlock. We gave the first season an 7/10 in our Young Sherlock review, calling the show “harmless fun with a clever spin on ‘Napoleon of Crime’ James Moriarty.”

“The ‘eight-hour movie’ aspect of this season is regrettable, and Sherlock himself often gets lost in the shuffle of what’s basically an ensemble adventure, but Young Sherlock has good chemistry, energy, and synergy.”

Prime Video is also currently in production on a live-action streaming series adaptation of God of War, the first look at which has proven divisive.
