Activision Tweaks Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 and Warzone's Terminator Skin After Players Said It Was 'Pay-to-Win' for Being So Hard to See

The T-800 skin has plagued Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 and Warzone ever since it went live as part of a $30 premium bundle earlier this year, leading some to accuse Activision of adding a "pay-to-win" cosmetic in the first-person shooter.

The problem had to do with visibility. The T-800 has a flat model and lacks illumination. At medium to long distances, it was incredibly hard to see compared to other character models. And in a game as fast and frantic as Call of Duty, being hard to see can make all the difference in a gunfight.

The T-800 was so bad that the developers at Activision had to nerf it, and so an update pushed live on April 8 did just that. Or, it made an attempt to do just that. Here’s the relevant line from the patch notes:

  • The T-800 Operator has received a visibility adjustment to ease target identification for the Endo Titanium Core skin.

But has this change gone far enough? Some Call of Duty players are saying the tweak makes little difference to their ability to see the Terminator in-game.

The question is, will Activision nerf the Terminator even further to address these ongoing visibility issues?

This isn’t the first time Call of Duty has had a visibility problem, of course. Most famously, the Roze operator skin caused all sorts of issues in Warzone back in 2021, forcing the developers at Raven to tweak it. Coincidentally, Roze is back for Season 3 of Black Ops 6 and Warzone, but locked behind the Battle Pass and even more expensive BlackCell version.

Despite this, Warzone in particular has enjoyed a boost following the release of OG map Verdansk. Check out all the biggest changes right here.
