Pulp Fiction 30th Anniversary Collector’s Edition Is Up for Preorder

I was in seventh grade when Pulp Fiction came out, and I thought it was the coolest movie ever made. Granted, I hadn’t seen all that many movies up to that point, but I was kinda right. Pulp Fiction blazed a trail for indie films and made a lasting mark on the entire medium. It solidified Quentin Tarantino as a major force in cinema, revived John Travolta’s career, made Samuel L. Jackson a household name, and even 30 years later, it still feels shocking and bold. It’s an undeniable masterpiece. And it’s now being released in a 30th anniversary 4K collector’s edition that comes with all kinds of neat extras (see it at Amazon). Let’s have a look.

Preorder Pulp Fiction 30th Anniversary Collector’s Edition

This release gets you Pulp Fiction on 4K UHD, Blu-ray, and digital. It also comes with a number of collectibles, all packaged in a “deluxe hardcover slipcase.” Here’s what’s included:

Slipcover with pop-up artworkLobby card reproductionsPhotography select sheetA sheet of stickers

The pop-up slipcover deserves some extra attention. It folds out into a pop-up-book-style display depicting the dancing scene between Uma Thurman and Travolta’s characters at Jack Rabbit Slim’s. It’s surprisingly detailed, complete with the two characters doing their iconic dance moves, plus the $5(!) milkshake and the (spoiler alert) trophy they win. The collection also includes a number of on-disc bonus features, listed out below.

If you haven’t seen Pulp Fiction or have somehow forgotten what it’s about, it stars Samuel L. Jackson and John Travolta as a pair of hitmen who work for a powerful Los Angeles gangster played by Ving Rhames. They get into all sorts of R-rated adventures, ranging from accidental murder to entertaining the boss’s wife while he’s on vacation. Then there’s a whole sequence about a boxer played by Bruce Willis and a pawn shop visit gone terribly awry.

It’s violent, it’s filled with expletive-riddled banter that only Tarantino could write, and it’s an absolute ‘90s masterpiece. Grab this edition if Pulp Fiction holds a special place in your movie-loving heart.
