Eagle-eyed Rockstar fans have noticed camera crews recording convoys of flashy GTA 6-themed cars in Miami, creating speculation over a new live-action trailer.
Rockstar Games has been conquering the city of Miami over the last few weeks as it ramps up to the release of GTA 6, which is set in a fictional version of Miami called Vice City. As a result, Rockstar has plastered all kinds of ads around the area, sent in a Vice City blimp to fly over Florida, and announced unique celebrations like a Vice City-themed NBA game with the Miami Heat in November. It’s an unprecedented marketing campaign that has quite literally turned the city into a real-life version of GTA’s universe.
With that said, there appear to be a variety of things happening right under Miamians’ noses without much explanation. Fans have started noticing exotic sports cars driving around the city in convoys, sometimes joined by a camera crew. These aren’t just ordinary cars, as they’re modified to resemble ones from the GTA series. In some videos and photos posted by fans, you can see in-universe car brands such as Grotti (a parody of Ferrari) and Emerus (a parody of McLaren) on some of the vehicles that are zooming around.
Filming of a separate video or trailer for GTA VI continues in Miami🌴

There is a widespread belief online that Rockstar intentionally released the latest trailer significantly earlier in order to release another GTA 6 video, filmed in real life, before the game’s launch. Over the past two days, high activity has been observed in Miami: camera operators are working there, and GTA 6 advertisements have been placed. For example, there are graffiti pieces that do not mention GTA 6 but simply read “Vice City.” The same inscription, “Welcome to Vice City,” is also present on the stadium. Presumably, all of this was done not only as part of a PR campaign but also to film the main trailer against a backdrop of streets that will be identical to the locations in GTA 6: the same advertising billboards, graffiti, and cars with similar license plates. It is quite possible that we will see such a video on the day the game becomes available for pre-installation.

Some fans speculate that Rockstar is shooting a live-action GTA 6 trailer and will utilize some of the real ads around the city to highlight the fact it has created a real-life version of Vice City. As of right now, Rockstar hasn’t addressed any of this advertising, and has instead let it speak for itself. Similarly, there have been reports that Rockstar will be releasing real-life versions of GTA beer brands in the near future following listings on a government database.
It’s anyone’s guess what all of this is being used for, but all signs seem to point to it being related to GTA. Rockstar has already announced that its Miami Heat sponsored game will be called “A Night in Vice City,” so maybe there are plans for more activities around the entire city beyond the actual basketball game. Either way, this is some next-level marketing and shows Rockstar is sparing no expense.
GTA 6 will release on November 19 for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.
